Doug Johnson
Doug began his amatuer racing efforts in 2004,
attending the Jim Russell School at Infineon
Raceway. Doug went through Jim Russell's
beginning and advanced racing programs, and
did his first race in Sept 2004 as part of the
Russell Racing Championship series. Besides
learning the fundimentals of racing, two
important things came from the Jim Russell
program - getting to know Ric McCormick, who
was a coach on staff, and meeting and becoming
good friends with Tony D'Allesandro, who was a
class-mate.

The other team member of 101 Motorsports, Dan DiTrapani, a good friend of Doug's, was
responsible for sparking Doug's racing interest. Dan's enthusiasm on being on track in a race
car (courtesy of a day with Skip Barber as a gift from his wife) was contagious and got Doug to
sign up for race school.
